Why We Print the Whole Verse, and Only the KJV

Posted by Robert Lemoine on 25th Oct 2026

Walk through any store and you'll see Bible verse shirts with three or four words pulled out of a verse and a reference tacked on underneath. We understand why. It fits on a shirt. But we decided a long time ago that if we were going to put God's Word on something, we'd put the whole verse.

Quick answer

Every Scripture t-shirt we sell carries one complete verse from the King James Version, word for word, not a shortened phrase. It's the translation many of our customers grew up reading and still carry to church.

Why the whole verse

A verse cut down to a slogan can lose what it means. "I can do all things" sounds like a pep talk; the rest of the verse tells you where the strength comes from. When the whole verse is on the shirt, the person reading it over your shoulder in the checkout line gets the whole message.

Why the King James

The KJV has shaped how English-speaking Christians have read Scripture for over four hundred years, and its wording sticks in the memory. It's also in the public domain, so we can print it in full and keep prices fair.

How to choose a verse shirt as a gift

  • For comfort: look in the Psalms.
  • For a graduate or a young adult: Proverbs is full of wisdom worth wearing.
  • For a new believer or a baptism: the Gospels and John 3:16.
  • For a veteran: see our veteran shirts, many with a KJV verse.
  • For the little ones: see kids and baby faith shirts.

Shirts are printed to order and ship to all 50 states, flat $10 or free on orders over $75.
